A bit about Tracy...
Tracy received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta in 1994 and is currently the Education Coordinator for the Ever Active Schools Program. Her previous teaching experience includes 11 years of teaching a variety of subjects, including Physical Education and Health to elementary and secondary students. She brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her EAS role with well over 100 speaking engagements in the past 3 years. Her love of activity is apparent and can be seen running the local trails, biking and playing hockey with her boys and golfing whenever she can.

Project Coordinator Shannon Horricks

A bit about Shannon...
Shannon obtained her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta in 2000. Since then she has taught at Holden School. Teaching not only grade six core, Shannon has had the oppurtunity to teach grades one through six; as well as, many other subjects. In her evenings, Shannon can be found teaching group fitness classes or training for an upcoming race. Her latest challenge was completing the Goofy Challenge in Disneyworld. Not only did she run a half marathon on one day and a full marathon the next day, she also raised over $5000 for the Canadian Diabetes Association. Recently she can be found training for The Death Race. Shannon loves being active and helping others reach their potiential.

School Coordinator Joyce Sunada

A bit about Joyce...
Joyce Sunada is the newest member of the Ever Active Schools Team. She holds a Bachelor of Education (major in Phys.Ed) and a Diploma in Radio Arts. Her 24 years of teaching experience includes all subject areas at the elementary level, junior high leadership, a four year administrative position and her favorite assignment, elementary Physical Education. Joyce is a trained workshop Facilitator and has presented sessions at the Health and Physical Education (HPEC) Workshops locally and provincially. She has provided professional development sessions for her colleagues to ensure students at her schools receive Daily Physical Activity (DPA).
Throughout her life Joyce has been an active person. Her activities have included basketball, volleyball, running, walking, biking and Judo (Joyce has a first degree black belt). Joyce currently enjoys traveling; being outdoors, hiking, biking, yoga, walking and watching her three daughters play competitive soccer. Joyce, her husband Guy and their youngest daughter live in Southwest Calgary.

Director Doug Gleddie

A bit about Doug...
Doug has been working with Ever Active Schools for almost 5 years
helping to create and support healthy active school communities. He
completed a B.A. in 1992 (Trinity Western), a B.Ed. in 1996
(Lethbridge), a M.A.in 2006 (Alberta) and is currently working towards
a PhD at the University of Alberta. Doug's teaching experience
includes grades 1 - post-secondary, a wide variety of subjects and two continents.
He enjoys taking an innovative, engaging and creative approach to
workshops, presentations or keynotes. In his spare time, Doug enjoys biking, hiking and playing with his family and pretty much will play any sport, any time, anywhere!

A bit about Rhonda...
Rhonda has been working with EAS for over three years and is looking forward to attending her fourth HPEC conference. She is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly as well as ensuring that program staff get to where they are supposed to be with what they need! Rhonda enjoys hanging out with her husband and teenage kids - at home, at the lake or in Vegas.

A bit about Karen...
Karen was initially the Administrative Assistant with Schools Come
Alive (SCA) since September 2007. When the merger between SCA and Ever
Active Schools occurred we were fortunate to have Karen stay on and
join the team.
Prior to working for SCA she was a full-time mom raising her two very
active children. Karen graduated from Fanshawe College in London,
Ontario with a Diploma in Legal Office Administration and worked in the
legal field as a Corporate Law Clerk for 15 years. Karen is an integral part of Ever Active Schools and is thrilled to be part of the team.
