Power 4 Bones
Power4Bones (P4B) is an innovative, free 7 week web-based bone-health program that encourages Grade 5 students in Alberta to take care of their bones.  The program responds to research in Alberta that shows that a significant number of Alberta teens have suboptimal eating and activity behaviors that may impact the development of strong bones.
Power4Bones consists of a variety of educational activities and is cross-curricular.  It helps teachers meet Alberta curriculum expectations in many subject areas, including language arts, health and wellness, physical education, math and fine arts.  The core P4B activities are based on multiple learning styles and on educational and health promotion theories.
Feedback from teachers and students on the program has been outstanding.  teachers appreciate the program's flexibility as it fits perfectly with the grade 5 curriculum.  Students love the program and are excited that it builds student leadership and school spirit by it's peer-lead approach.
