The Ever Active Schools Program

Ever Active Schools (EAS)  provides supports and services for Alberta schools in four distinct, yet linked pillars:
Education: developing and delivering professional development opportunities, supporting the implementation of wellness curricula, planning and coordinating events to support school communities and resource development.
Implementation: providing supports and services to member and associate schools, maintaining a provincial database of members and associates, assessing the capacity of schools to promote health (HATS) and assisting schools with their action plans.
Communication: website development, updates and improvements; producing and distributing a tri-annual newsletter (EverACTIVE); maintaining the Alberta Promising Practices for Health Promoting Schools Database; networking and advocating for health promoting schools.
Research: promoting, conducting and monitoring research with member and associate schools; linking with key HPS research and developments, linking schools with current research from Alberta universities and evaluation of the EAS framework.

Over the next 19 years, SCA became the go to source for physical education and health professional development and thrived under five different coordinators.  For a full history of SCA, please click on the logo to the right.
